For Your Viewing Pleasure
Everyone is talking about Bridgerton. I'll check it out soon. In the meantime, some gems we've viewed recently include American Utopia and Pretend It's a City.
American Utopia, a theatrical concert by Talking Heads's David Byrne, is mesmerizing. Of course the music is amazing. I was impressed and surprised by 68-year-old Byrne's stamina and vitality. He doesnβt even seem to be sweating. And his dance moves are the best. (They always have been.) The show is long and intense, entertaining and deeply meaningful.
Pretend It's a City is a docu-series by Martin Scorcese, centering on interviews with Fran Lebowitz. Lebowitz is a kindred spirit. She is book obsessed and the quintessential New Yorker. I love her sense of humor and I love hearing her musings on everything from her own childhood to other people's kids, money and travel. She is unique and so authentically her.
Check them out in between those steamy Bridgerton love scenes (so I hear) ;)
