Attachment Issues
Admittedly, I am attached to old, dated clothes. I also get super attached to shows. I still yearn for The West Wing since watching it in my twenties. I deeply miss The Newsroom, too. I also miss non-Aaron Sorkin programs like Bridgerton. I don't want to rewatch these series. I just miss being in it, getting to know characters and seeing how things develop. Just like with a steller book, I don't want a beloved TV show to end.
Welp. My latest sweet sorrowful parting is with... Ted Lasso. This is shocking to me. When I first heard of the show I was quick to say, "No way." I didn't want to spend precious time watching a series about sports. Boy, was I wrong.
Sure, Ted Lasso is about an American football coach who goes to England to lead a soccer team. But that's not really what it's about. Knowledge about athletics is certainly not a prerequisite for watching. Nor is any sort of predilection for sports. The show is about what it means to be human, to be in a community. It's about relationships. It's a little cheesy, but not too cheesy. It's just the right amount cheesy. It's literally laugh out loud funny. It's about love and it's about believing.
Since finishing the first season I miss Ted Lasso. (Can you tell?) Hubs says there will always be another show. But what's next? Hopefully Aaron Sorkin is working on something...
