Ladies who lunch

We recently returned to the Bahamas for a family vacation. Before going I was a little nervous about the dining situation, because during our last visit the kids got tired of the hotel food and started a hunger strike (save for snacks) towards the end of the trip. This time I packed extra snacks, but I also hoped the girls would enjoy the delicious (and more nutritious) resort menu items.

At meal time on this year's vacation, the girls asked to sit by themselves on a few occasions. Now that they're eight and five, they love acting like teenagers. We said sure, why not? They were within eyesight, and so adorable to spy on! Liv read the menus, and they ordered what they wanted (including some healthy food, and no complaints!). They felt super grown up, and they got to enjoy special sister time. The kids kept themselves entertained, while Hubs and I had some one on one time ourselves. Win win!

Did our five year old order a pina colada with breakfast? Yes, yes she did. But hey, it was vacay! And the girls were embracing the local cuisine ;)
