Indian Summer Reading
It's hard to top Nora Goes Off Script and my other recent reads, but I did enjoy some other notable novels this summer:
Meant to Be
Inspired by JFK, Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kenndy, Meant to Be tells the story of Joe III and Cate Cooper. The two come from vastly different backgrounds and have their own distinct sets of baggage. They have an instant connection but are faced with many obstacles, including the so-called "Kingsley curse." Emily Giffin is such a talented writer. This latest book of hers isn't my favorite, but it doesn't disappoint. It also ignited a newfound curiosity of Carolyn Bessette for me.
The Bodyguard
A romcom book with a surprising protagonist. Hannah is a female bodyguard grieving the passing of her mother, and faced with an unusual assignment. Quick and entertaining, I read this novel each night before bed in Nantucket.
Where the Grass Is Green and the Girls Are Pretty
Written by the author of The Devil Wears Prada, this book is clever and has many relatable parts. Where the Grass Is Green centers on two sisters, Peyton and Skye, who are each grappling with their own turning points in their early middle age lives. There's career drama, parenting issues and even a brush with the law. Read on.
