How Motherhood Changed My...
I read this article in The New York Times on how motherhood changed 16 different women. I related to so many aspects of these women's transformations. Personally, motherhood changed me in so many ways I don't even know where to start. All the cliches and classic poems ring true. A whole new level of love. Hearts beating outside my body. My whole reason for being and soul's purpose utterly transformed. Right after my first baby Liv was born I wrote an essay, which got rejected from a few publications, on my fear and hesitations surrounding becoming a mother. Maybe I'll post it here one day. In the meantime I will say that I was terrified of becoming a mother (along with layers of many other feelings). Now being a mother brings me more joy than I ever thought possible; my heart swells regularly. Of course being a mom is also SO hard. Again, all the cliches are true and being a mom is my greatest gift and my greatest challenge. I am so incredibly grateful for all of it.
