Hollywood's Biggest Night
I know it's cool to hate on awards shows these days, and I can appreciate the ridiculousness of all the Hollywood hoopla, but I love Awards Season. I always have, I probably always will. I love to snuggle up on the couch under a cozy blanket and take in every contrived joke, every heartening acceptance speech. In fact I was so bummed I missed the SAG awards recently that I found a recording on HBO Max and watched it the other night. Hubs claimed I was the only person in the world watching the SAGs after the fact.
The Oscars are tonight and I've cleared my schedule :) I've only seen a few of the nominated movies, but I can't wait to take in the whole spectacle. I will be rooting for the films I've seen and loved: Don't Look Up, Licorice Pizza, The Lost Daughter and The Worst Person in the World.
The Lost Daughter and The Worst Person in the World have really stuck with me. The two movies are both greatly original; they both center on unique female storylines. Both are moving. I highly recommend watching the two films, as well as the Academy Awards, of course.
