Girl Meets World

My Mia. My baby who is a Big Girl at two and a half. She hasn't been to camp, or school, or really anything yet. We had been planning to enroll her in a two's program, but then Covid hit and we kept her home. Fortunately she has a playmate in her big sister Liv. Mia's naturally comfortable around new people and loves to socialize. She is the silliest person, always making us giggle. She's ready to make new friends and get out of the house. Mia has been begging to go to school, or anywhere at all.

Finally, this summer, she is going to camp. She wants to take a yellow school bus. She'll have to settle for our black SUV, until she's a bit older. Regardless of transportation she is ready to get out into the world. I have mixed feelings, of course. I love seeing her in between work calls. She lights up my life, each little moment at a time.

"Mommy can you play with me?" — Mia
"Not now, I'm working. But later, QT! Can I have a kiss?" — Me
"Ok. And a hug. Bye Mommy." — Mia

Or another frequent exchange.
"Mia where are your shoes?" — Me
"I don't know, Margot" — Mia

This kid. It's a good thing camp is only three hours/day. I need my Mia moments.
