Becks
I don't want to give airtime on this blog to the atrocities occurring in Israel at the hands of Hamas, but I will say that I am gutted, heartbroken, not OK. It shocks me that anyone is feeling chipper these days and, yet, somehow they are. We cannot look away. But in order to function, I need to pause. Take a moment and breathe in my kids. (Thank G-d.) Go for a walk and try to zone out to a podcast. Snuggle under the heavy and watch a show.
Enter: Beckham on Netflix. A momentary salve. All about David Beckham's rise from soccer obsessed kid to super star, the limited series lets us in on Beckham's humble beginnings, leap to fame and marriage to Victoria AKA Posh Spice. I didn't know much about Beckham before, but now I'm in love with him. He's adorable, witty, a total family man. A bit of a perfectionist as well. I enjoyed learning about Beckham's professional soccer ("football") journey, and I love how affectionate he was with his teammates. He really is an all around lovable guy.
The show itself is well-done, funny and highly entertaining. Just what we need right now, when looking for glimmers of hope and joy.

P.S. I love that Becks is a nice Jewish boy, as my family would say :)
