Wining & Dining
For the past several months I've been in a bit of an accidental Sober Curious stage. I still drink some wine, but only occasionally and a lot less than in years past. I used to be a big drinker back in the day, from high school, all the way up until I got pregnant at around age 30. Giving up my partying ways wasn't easy; socializing and drinking went hand in hand.
Since having my babies I can't afford to black out, nor do I want that experience and accompanying hangover. Now I drink just a glass of wine, and I feel tipsy. In this way I've turned into my mom :) Out to dinner with friends, sometimes I want a bit more vino after one glass, but maybe not a whole other pour. (I know, wild times.) So lately I'll ask to share a second glass with a friend. The server can simply split the portion between our two glasses, and it's just the right amount for a top off.
All of this is to say you don't have to order a whole other glass. Share one serving with your pal. Minimize your buzz and hangover. Every bit avoided helps when you're basically middle aged and worn out the next day from even a small amount of alcohol :)
