What's in a name?
This book is good. It's an entertaining novel with a unique storyline centering on protagonist Sunday Brennan, who returns home to her big, Irish Catholic family in New York after an abrupt stay in Los Angeles. Sunday had been in a dark place and ended up in a drunk driving accident. She returns to her roots to recover, but in doing so has to confront her own shameful past as well as her family's. There are sweet, even romantic, moments as well.
I do have one criticism regarding some of the characters' names. They distract from the plot, at least in the beginning. "Sunday" isn't even the offending moniker. It's the rhyming couplet of Kale and Grail, plus a similar sounding Clare. I kept thinking of kale salad and all the rhyming sidetracked me from the story. But overall, a good, engaging read.
