The Night We Lost Him

First of all, author Laura Dave is a doll. I was lucky enough to meet her at a recent book talk in town. I love her and her writing. At the event, she said she's writing the sequel to her hit The Last Thing He Told Me. I can't wait!

I just finished her newest novel, The Night We Lost Him. As always, I enjoyed Dave's writing, however this storyline was not my fave. One of the central "conflicts" just didn't make sense to me. Two characters, who loved each other, weren't together. They wanted to be together, but they weren't, and so they were pining for one another - but there was no discernible reason why they weren't just.. together. If you've read the novel, lemme know your thoughts!
