The Last Thing He Told Me

I'm a big fan of Laura Dave's books including Eight Hundred Grapes and The First Husband. Recently I read her bestselling novel The Last Thing He Told Me and I was riveted. I had seen the book mentioned by various people and publications but I had been reluctant to purchase it; it seemed scary. A local bookseller reassured me that it was a page-turner but not a disturbing read. She was right; the novel is gripping, but manageable for us highly sensitive souls.

The Last Thing He Told Me centers on a woman and her search, along with her step-daughter, for her missing husband. There are some (just relatively creepy) clues and the story is cleverly and quite suspensefully woven. The book is just the right amount thrilling, and its content is truly unique. I did not see a lot of the novel's twists coming. I highly recommend The Last Thing He Told Me for all readers, even scaredy cats.
