Curb Your Enthusiasm

Sometimes having low, or no, expectations is good. For example, I went into the last three TV series we watched with super low expectations. I thought I would hate Bridgerton, Ted Lasso and my new favorite Emily in Paris. Emily in Paris looked merely frivolous and juvenile. Wrong. Yes, the show is super cute. But it's more than that. It portrays a strong female lead, someone who is confident, empowered to speak her mind, and femine, too. The series is adorable, funny and smart. I was pleasantly surprised with Emily, just like with my previous two shows. I am learning to not judge a series by its Netflix thumbnail image. Also, I am reminded to not approach any new situation with attachment to a specific outcome. When I don't try to control what will happen, I might just get charmed.
